Scout team starts walking for President Rover Scout Award

A four member-team of Rover Scout started their walking from Pirojpur to reach Kuakata by traveling 150 km on foot to reach Kuakata seashore in Patuakhali with the aim of getting the President Rover Scout Award.
The members of this Rover Scout team are: Senior Rover Mate Rakibul Islam, Rover Mate Tanveer Hasan Sheikh Mahim, Nazmul Howlader, AKM Jabid Hasan. All of them belong to different units of Pirojpur Government Suhrawardy College Rover Scouts group.
Mentionable in order to achieve the highest award of Rover Scouts ‘President Rover Scout (PRS)’, Rovers have to complete a program by walking 150 km or 300 km by boat or 500 km by bicycle, which is known as rambling in Scouting.
The team said they started journey from the front of the Pirojpur District Commissioner’s office on Sunday (May 12) at 6 am and will reach Kuakata on next Thursday (May 16) evening.
On the way, they will visit and observe important places and pay courtesy calls on various educational and industrial institutions, administrative officials.
At the same time, awareness campaign will be conducted on public awareness, prevention of corruption, ban on plastic, climate protection, alternative use of polythene, said senior rover mate Rakibul Islam.
