Legendary artiste Runa Laila is celebrating 60 years of her musical career. She started her musical journey by singing in the Urdu film ‘Jugnu’ in 1965. Since then, she has sung more than 10,000 songs.
Runa has done playbacks singing in Bengali, Hindi and Urdu films. She has presented many popular songs.
Her fame for her extraordinary singing has spread across the subcontinent.
Runa Laila received the Swadhinata Padak, the country’s highest civilian honour.
She has received the National Film Awards seven times. She has received numerous other awards at home and abroad.
This legendary artiste recently appeared as a guest on Maasranga TV’s ‘Star Night’ programme to celebrate her 60 years in musical career.
In the show, she talks about various events and experiences of her colourful career.
Along with the local artistes, she has worked with many famous artistes and composers from India and Pakistan.
Some of them spoke about Runa Laila, which will be shown in the programme.
In addition, the programme will also feature talks from Runa’s friends and relatives, and will include information about her favourite songs and artistes. Many rare photos from Runa’s personal album will be on display at this show.
The programme ‘Star Night’, scripted by Rumman Rashid Khan and presented by Mousumi Mou, is produced by Ajay Poddar. It will be aired tonight ( October 17) at 9:00pm.
