Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has urged the army members, who were raised with the hard-earned money of the people of the country, to be supremely responsible towards the people. Addressing the new officers, he said, ‘The strength of the army comes from discipline, morality and professionalism.’ He said these things to the new officers at the Presidential Parade held at the Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) premises in Bhatiara, Chattogram on Tuesday.
The Army Chief said, discipline is the main driving force of the army. To take a final decision on any matter, one must follow one’s conscience. He also advised never to forget the contribution of the hard-working people of the family, society and the country. He said, ‘Protecting their welfare, security and honour is the biggest responsibility of an army officer.’
Highlighting the importance of religious and moral values, the army chief said that following religious principles and values helps an army member to be an idealist and possess a good character. A total of 204 cadets of the 89th BMA Long Term Course and 60th Special Course were commissioned in this parade. After taking the oath, the new officers were given rank badges by their parents and guardians.
