Summit Group has appointed Md Reaz Uddin as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Summit Meghnaghat I Power Company Ltd. (337 MW) and Summit Meghnaghat II Power Company Ltd. (583 MW).
With over 32 years of experience in the power sector, Mr. Uddin has been a key member of Summit since 2011. He previously served as CEO of Summit Meghnaghat II and COO of both Summit Meghnaghat I and Summit Bibiyana Power plants. His career highlights include leading the development of over 2,000 MW of power capacity and facilitating foreign financing exceeding USD 1.1 billion.
Mr. Uddin holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from BUET and an MBA from Victoria University, Australia. He began his career at KAFCO and later joined AES, contributing to the early Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects in Bangladesh.
In addition to his corporate achievements, he is widely respected for his community engagement, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2024 floods in southern Bangladesh.
Summit Meghnaghat I is a joint venture with Taiyo Life, JERA, and Summit, while Meghnaghat II is backed by GE, JERA, and Summit.
