On the occasion of the 60th birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu’s youngest son Sheikh Russell, a grand procession was held in Ishwardi under the leadership of Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, General Secretary of Upazila Awami League.
In addition to party leaders and workers, a large number of common people participated in the procession on Wednesday (October 18) evening. Later, a rally was held at the bus stand.
Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, who is hoping to be nominated for Pabna-4 seat, called on BNP to counter all the ‘conspiracies’ and said that BNP and Jamaat are trying to thwart the upcoming parliamentary elections. Awami League is united today in Ishwardi to face all anarchy and conspiracies.
The countrymen are fed up with the activities of Jamaat-BNP. So the BNP is conspiring with the US imperialists, fearing the polls. Seeing the development activities of Sheikh Hasina, the people are united to elect her as the Prime Minister again.
Mintu also said that the celebration of Sheikh Russell’s birthday is not an isolated event, it is an Awami League event.
