Staff Reporter :

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam on Friday reaffirmed that no power on earth can block or derail the forthcoming national election, stressing the government’s commitment to ensuring a participatory, festive and competitive electoral environment.

Speaking to reporters after visiting the Sureshwar Darbar Sharif in Naria upazila of Shariatpur, he said that although the “fallen autocratic elements” may attempt to disrupt the process, they will ultimately fail.

He added that Bangladeshis have been deprived of a genuine election for the last 15 and a half years under the “removed Hasina regime,” and the public is now eagerly anticipating a proper democratic exercise.

“The top priority of both the government and the Election Commission is to deliver a free, fair, peaceful and credible election. With the announcement of the schedule, the nation is steadily moving in that direction,” he said.

According to him, the widespread display of posters and campaign activities across the country reflects the people’s
enthusiasm for a festival-like election.

During the visit, he was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Imrul Hasan, Naria Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdul Kaiyum, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Lucky Das, and Sureshwar Darbar Sharif’s spiritual leaders Pir Shah Nure Parvez Al-Noori and Syed Touhidul Hssain Shahin Noori Al-Sureshwari.
