FENI: World Mental Health Day was celebrated last Tuesday at the 250-bed General Hospital, Feni with the theme “Mental health is a universal human right”. Hospital Superintendent Dr. Abul Khair Miyaji presided over and Resident medical officer Dr. Asif Iqbal attended the event as a guest. Civil Surgeon Dr Shihab Uddin Feni and Dr Masud Rana, UH&FPO, Feni Sadar Upazila were among others present on the occasion. Besides, senior and junior consultants, medical officers, nursing superintendents, supervisors and senior staff nurses of the institution were present.

The 24th anniversary of Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology, Tangail was celebrated through various programs. To mark the Day, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Dr Md. Farhad Hossain, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr ARM Sulaiman and Treasurer Prof Dr Md. Sirajul Islam hoisted the national flag and the university flag in front of the administration on Thursday. Later, internal regent board members, dean, registrar inaugurated the foundation anniversary by flying pigeons, balloons and festoons.

Maulana Bhasani University of Science & Technology awarded Academic Genius Award (Medal)-2023 to the most meritorious students of B.Sc. (Eng.)/ B.Sc. The award (medal) was given to 79 students of 15 departments in the seminar room on the 12th floor of the academic building of the university on Wednesday. Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman (Additional Duties) and member Prof Dr Muhammad Alamgir spoke as the chief guest at the event presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the University Md. Farhad Hossain. In addition, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof Dr ARM Solaiman and Treasurer Prof Dr Md. Sirajul Islam spoke as the special guests. Teachers, students, officers and employees of various departments of the university were present on the occasion.
