JETRO’s country representative meets BEPZA Chairman: The country representative of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Yuji Ando made a courtesy call on Major General SM Salahuddin Islam, Executive Chairman of BEPZA at his office on Tuesday. They discussed on different issues related to Japanese investment in the EPZs including the impact of COVID-19 on Japanese companies in Bangladesh, said a press release. BEPZA Executive Chairman sought cooperation of JETRO to attract more Japanese investment in the EPZs as well as BEPZA Economic Zone. General Manager (IP) of BEPZA Md. Muhammed Misbah Ahmed, Head of Sreemangal Branch of Prime Bank Limited and Salauddin Akbar, General Manager, Sylhet Zone of Pragati Life Insurance Limited, jointly handed over a cheque for Tk 10 lakh to Jomila Khatun, nominee of a customer of the deposit scheme who succumbed to COVID-19, the bank immediately arranged to pay off the full amount at maturity to the nominee at a function held recently.
