Patenga to be turned into a sub-city : Mosharaf

Minister for Housing and Works Engr. Mosharaf Hossain said , the bank of Patenga Sea Beach will be turned into an eye-catching tourism -cum-sub city in future for development of tourism industry in the region.
He disclosed it to the journalists while visiting the outer road project in Patenga yesterday Engr. Moshraf said with the concept of Karachi and Dubai Mega city, we want a such a similar sub-city beside the bank of the Bay at Patenga. Beside the residential and commercial area in the proposed sub-city, there will be a number of hotels and motels for the inland and foreign tourists.
He said after completion of outer ring road , land acquisition will be started for the proposed sub-city. The Minister said it is rare in the world where a city is situated surrounded by sea, hills and rivers. Minister hoped that the ring road project will be completed by April next. At the same time, the minister also disclosed for construction of 18 kilometer long flyover from Chittagong Interntional Airport to Shah Amanat bridge for easy communications of the traffic movement. On same day, the Minister visited different projects of public works department and Chittagong Development Authority accompanied by senior officials of these two departments and party leaders, journalists, sources said. CDA chairman Abdus Salam was also present with him during his project visits.
The minister also directed the PWD to develop a modern amusement park in Agrabad Jumburi ground after his visit there. The Minister also directed CDA chairman for taking over the administrative responsibilities of the DC hill park with better development of the park . The minister at first went to DC hill , sources said.
