Panama flag vessel detained in Ctg Port

Mercentile Marine Department ,Chittagong detained at Panama flag vessel MV Ashbang-1 operated from Dubai Seaport on Thursday .
The vessel now detained at TSP berth of Chitagong port.
MMD sources said The vessel berth at Chittagong port inner berth on August 17 last with bitumen consignment from Dubai.
Sources said 43 defects traced in this vessel and until the defects are removed the vessel will not be released from port.
Local agent of the vessel Specterm Shipping’s Operatiion Excutive Md. Abdul Kaiyum Sohag told this reporter that the vessel with bitumen consignment took berth in Chittagong port on bAugust 17 last. Following the inspection of the vessel by MMD officials, 43 defects traced in the vessel which not sailable.
But the local agent sources said they had already removed 35 defects out of 43 in the meantime.
Sources said till the remaining defects are removed fully, the vessel will stay in the port.
