BCRA, JnU demand punishment of child killers

Bangladesh Child Rights Academia (BCRA) and the Department of Social Science of Jagannath University jointly formed a human chain in front of the university Shaheed Minar recently to protest the killing of three children recently in the country and demand capital punishment against the culprits instantaneously.
However, a 10-year old Rabiul was bludgeoned in the head with a crowbar after a neighbor accused him of stealing fish in Barguna last week, 12-year old Rakib was tortured to death by a former boss for joining a competiton in Khulna on August 3, as two men inserted a high-pressure air pump nozzle into his rectum, and 13-year old Samiul Alam Rajon was tied to a pole and swatted to death by men who accused him of stealing a van – and captured the beating on a cellphone video in Sylhet last month,
The speakers strongly protested the brutal killings of children and demanded justice immediately.
They said that though this sort of incidents also happened in the past, the number is on the rise, and the nature of torture is becoming worse and the reason being people do not see botchers getting punished.
Professor Dr Farida Akhter Khanom, Chairperson of Social Science department, addressed the programme while Focal Person of BCRA Professor Md Saidur Rashid Sumon conducted the programme.
