Asian Continental Chess begins today

The Asian Continental Chess Championship open and women’s group begins today (Sunday) in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates.
Five members Bangladesh Chess team will participate in the event. GM Ziaur Rahman, GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib and GM Enamul Hossain Razib will participate in open section while WIM Shamima Akter Liza takes part in women’s section.
The open event is a qualifying event of World Cup Chess and women’s section is a qualifying for the Women’s World Chess. International Arbiter M Haroon Or Rashid of Bangladesh nominated as chief arbiter of the event.
Bangladesh Chess Federation is providing the expenditures of GM Zia and WIM Liza while federation’s vice-president Syed Shahab Uddin Shamim carry expenditure of GM Rakib and Razib.
