School teacher killed in road accident

A school teacher has been killed in a road accident of Saturday afternoon at Dadpur Bazaar in Char Ekkariya union under Mehendiganj upazila of Barisal.
The victim was identified as Humayun Kabir, 42, teacher of PN high school of Hizla and resident of Mehendiganj municipal town.
Ujjal Kumar Dey, officer in charge of Mehendiganj police station, said the victim died on way to home from school received head injury after his carrier auto-rickshaw fell upside down at roadside ditch.
The victim was brought to Mehendiganj Upazila Health Complex by local people and Dr. Anwar Hossain of hospital declared him as dead on Saturday afternoon.
Local people detained the auto-rickshaw, but its driver managed to flee.
Police sent the dead body of the victim to Barisal Sher -e- Bangla Medical College Hospital for autopsy lodging a case of unnatural death, the OC Mehendiganj PS told.
