According to the Education Ministry, a total of 12,70,583 students from 9,439 educational institutions sat for the examinations at 2,697 centres across the country under 11 education boards.

Of them, 6,21,969 were boys and 6,48,614 were girls, meaning 26,645 more girls than boys took part in the examinations.

The examinations began on 2 July under nine general education boards, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board and the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board.

Although the written examinations were scheduled to end on 8 August, some examinations, including those under the Chattogram Education Board, were postponed due to natural disasters and flooding and held later. The practical examinations were completed by 15 August. This year, the nine general education boards conducted examinations using a uniform question paper, with 10,69,714 students participating.

Meanwhile, students dissatisfied with their results will be able to apply for scrutiny or reassessment of their answer scripts from 1 November.

According to an Inter-Education Board press release, applications can be submitted online until 7 November. Detailed instructions will be available on the respective education boards’ websites.
