Director asks for food, heroine Priti Sapru dropped from main role as she refuses

Popular Bollywood actress Priti Sapru of the 80s recently revealed a dark and brutal truth inside the Hindi film industry in an interview with ‘Bollywood Thikana’.

While sharing her experience of working with famous stars and directors, she revealed how she was only a victim of ego or personal stubbornness.

She was demoted from a main character to a cameo overnight for refusing to serve food as directed by the director on set or for the slightest protest.

Recalling a sensational incident during the shooting of the 1984 film ‘Jagir’, Priti said that when the film’s director Pramod Chakraborty came to the set exhausted after finishing work, he ordered her to serve food.

Pramod got angry with her for asking her why she, as an actress, would feed the director.

Not only that, the next day her character was cut from the main cast of the film and made to stand behind veteran actor Amrish Puri.

The director also threatened her and said that she would not be able to survive in the industry for long.

Not only ‘Jagir’ (1984), but also on the sets of the 1983 film ‘Avtaar’, Priti was treated like a junior artiste and she strongly
protested this behaviour.
