SSC test exams to be held between October 28 and November 10

The secondary education boards have directed educational institutions to hold the selection examinations for the 2027 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations between October 28 and November 10.

The boards have also published a notice on filling out forms for the SSC examinations. According to the notice, the last date for publishing the selection examination results is November 15, 2026.

Participation in the selection examinations is mandatory for all students, except those taking the examinations to clear failed subjects or improve their Grade Point Average (GPA), the notice said.

Regarding the syllabus, irregular candidates and those seeking GPA improvement will sit the tests based on question papers prepared according to the 2025-26 SSC examination syllabus. Regular candidates will take the tests based on question papers prepared under the 2027 SSC examination syllabus.

For students of all academic years, marks in Physical Education, Health Science and Sports, and Career Education will be awarded through continuous assessment in line with National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) guidelines.

Educational institutions must provide the marks obtained through continuous assessment to the respective examination centres. The centres will then submit these marks online through the education board’s website along with the practical examination marks.

The original handwritten mark sheets for practical examinations and continuous assessment must also be submitted in person to the board’s Secondary Examination Section.
