Tariqul Omar new BRTC Chairman

The government has appointed Meer Ahemed Tariqul Omar, additional secretary to the Ministry of Shipping, as the new chairman of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC).

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Thursday appointing him on deputation and placing his services under the Road Transport and Highways Division.

Meanwhile, incumbent BRTC Chairman Abdul Latif Molla has been transferred as additional secretary to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute.

Latif Molla has been asked to join his new posting by October 13 after handing over his current responsibilities.

If he fails to join by the deadline, he will be considered stand-released in the afternoon of October 13.
