Dhaka Abahani post big win, Fortis draw with Dhaka City Club

Dhaka Abahani Limited won their second match in the Bangladesh Football League. Maruful Haque’s team defeated Dhaka Wanderers Club by a massive 5-1 win at the Chandpur District Stadium on Saturday.

Abahani drew with PWD in the first match of the league. As a result, their collection is now 4 points with one win and one draw in two matches.

Abahani took third position in the points table. Bangladesh Police Football Club achieved the top position with 6 points playing two matches.

Abahani played an aggressive football from the start against Wanderers, who lost in the previous match. Dhaka Abahani Limited took the lead in the fourth minute of the match through Anthony Okachi’s goal.

Two minutes later, Moeed Ahmed doubled the lead.
Despite conceding two goals in six minutes, Wanderers tried to turn around.

The team showed signs of returning to the match by reducing the gap with a goal by Zahid Hossain in the 13th minute. Abahani then took complete control of the match. Michael Babatunde’s goal in the 33rd minute made the scoreline 3-1.

The gap in the first half widened in the second half. In the 74th minute, Okachi scored the team’s fourth goal and his second. Al-Amin scored the fifth goal in added time.
Abahani had possession of the ball for almost 80 percent of the entire match. Out of 18 shots on goal, 10 were on target.

In another match of the day, Fortis drew 3-3 with Dhaka City Club at the Kings Arena. After this draw, both teams have 4 points. Fortis Club took the second place in the table due to the goal difference. Dhaka City Club earned the fourth place.

Meanwhile, the match between Arambagh Krira Sangha and Rahmatganj MFS at the Gopalganj District Stadium also ended in a draw. The match ended with a 2-2 tie.
