Macklemore announces ‘Free Palestine’ tour

A lot has happened since American rapper Macklemore was dropped from British musician Ed Sheeran’s tour due to his pro-Palestinian remarks during
a concert.

Even Ed Sheeran himself expressed his regret for it and this is
the first time he has criticised the Israeli genocide in Palestine on stage.

Now, Macklemore has announced a solo music tour called ‘Free Palestine’. “As you all know, my schedule is a bit empty right now!” the American artist joked while announcing the tour on Thursday.

Macklemore, whose real name is Benjamin Haggerty, said all proceeds from the tour, which kicks off in Dublin, Ireland next month, will be donated to various charities helping Palestinians.

In a statement, McLemore said the events of the past few weeks have shown him that “a collective awakening has emerged among the people against the demand for Palestinian liberation and the power of the billionaires who seek to silence that voice.”
