JnU 2nd convocation scheduled for Jan 30 next year

Jagannath University (JnU) will hold its much-awaited second convocation on January 30, 2027, with the date confirmed after a meeting between its Vice-Chancellor and President and Chancellor Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

The confirmation came on Monday, September 21, during a meeting between Jagannath University (JnU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Rais Uddin and the President and Chancellor at the latter’s office.

University Treasurer Professor Dr Sabina Sharmeen and Acting Registrar Professor Dr Md Sheikh Gias Uddin were also present at the meeting.

The discussions focused on the overall arrangements and preparations for the university’s second convocation. The scheduled date of January 30, 2027 was reaffirmed during the meeting.

The participants also discussed measures to ensure that the convocation is organised in a smooth, orderly and dignified manner.

The university administration has already started preparatory activities for the event. Relevant committees and offices will gradually complete the necessary work to organise a well-managed and festive convocation.

Jagannath University held its first convocation on January 11, 2020. Its graduates have since been waiting for the institution’s second convocation.

The January 30, 2027 event is expected to bring an end to that long wait and formally recognise the academic achievements of the university’s graduates.

The second convocation will also mark another significant milestone in Jagannath University’s development.
