Bangladesh, Malaysia explore stronger tourism cooperation
Bangladesh and Malaysia have discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in tourism, with a focus on better connectivity, easier visa services, skills development and cultural exchanges to improve travel experiences for people from both countries.
The issues came up at a meeting between State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat and Malaysian Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Chiew Choon Man in Putrajaya on Tuesday, according to a press release received on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed several measures to expand tourism ties, including increasing flight frequencies, facilitating visas and pre-verification, strengthening capacity-building programmes and promoting greater cultural exchanges.
The two sides discussed cooperation in training and skills development in the hospitality industry, with a particular focus on increasing recruitment of trained Bangladeshi personnel in Malaysia’s tourism service sector.
The meeting underscored the importance of closer cooperation in promoting tourism, strengthening people-to-people connectivity and creating greater opportunities for cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
The discussions also contributed to strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Malaysia while identifying new areas for mutually beneficial collaboration.
