Ronaldo marries longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez

Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner, model and influencer Georgina Rodriguez, in a civil ceremony on Tuesday.

The couple reportedly tied the knot on 11th August in the coastal town of Cascais, near Lisbon, with Portuguese media describing it as the “wedding of the year”. Their five children are also reported to have attended the ceremony.

Ronaldo confirmed the marriage through a post on Instagram, sharing an image of two hands wearing wedding rings, believed to be his and Rodriguez’s. The post received more than three million likes within just 30 minutes.

The couple have been together for 10 years after meeting at a Gucci shop in Madrid, where Rodriguez was working while Ronaldo was playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid.

They announced their engagement on 11th August 2025, with Rodriguez sharing a photograph of a large diamond ring on social media. She captioned the post in Spanish, writing: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is regarded as one of football’s greatest players and has scored 976 official career goals during a career spanning Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr and Portugal.

It is pertinent to mention that the Portugal captain recently featured at his sixth World Cup, matching Argentina star Lionel Messi’s record for the most appearances at the men’s tournament.

The marriage marks a new chapter in the couple’s relationship, which has spanned nearly a decade and included their growing family and public appearances around the world.
