SMP Commissioner Sarwar joins work

Newly appointed Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Commissioner Sarwar Murshed Shamim joined his new assignment on Saturday.

He arrived in Sylhet by air on Saturday afternoon and was received at Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport by senior officials of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police.

According to the SMP’s media wing, after arriving in the city, he went to the Police Officers’ Mess, where senior SMP officials welcomed him with flower greetings. A smartly turned-out SMP contingent also accorded him a formal guard of honour.

Later in the evening, the new police commissioner visited the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and offered Maghrib prayers at the shrine mosque.

He then visited the Sylhet Metropolitan Police Headquarters, where he exchanged courtesies with officers from various branches and units of the force.
