Petrol bomb explodes in Motijheel
A petrol bomb thrown by unidentified miscreants exploded in the capital’s Motijheel area on Friday night, though no casualties or damage were reported immediately.
The explosion took place on the road beneath the Motijheel Metro Rail Station, according to police.
Following the incident, members of the police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the bomb disposal unit rushed to the spot and began an investigation. They collected evidence from the scene.
For security reasons, traffic movement on one side of the road was temporarily restricted.
Witnesses said a loud explosion suddenly occurred on the road beneath the metro rail station at night, prompting law enforcement agencies to reach the area.
During a search operation, another unexploded bomb wrapped inside an umbrella was recovered from the spot.
