DNCC launches ‘Waste Digital Van’ on trial basis

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has launched a trial operation of a “Waste Digital Van” service to improve the speed and efficiency of waste management activities.

The city corporation announced the initiative on Friday, describing it as a new step towards modernising waste collection services.

According to the DNCC Waste Management Department, the digital vans will collect waste from different areas following a fixed schedule. The initiative will enable digital monitoring and management of the entire waste collection process.

The department said the pilot project will help improve coordination, transparency and efficiency in waste management operations.

If the trial proves successful, the service will gradually be expanded to other areas under DNCC, it added.
