Southeast Bank holds 9th EGM & 31st AGM

The 9th extra-ordinary general meeting (EGM) and the 31st annual general meeting (AGM) of Southeast Bank PLC. were held on Thursday through a digital platform.

MA Kashem, chairman of Southeast Bank PLC, presided over the meeting.

Bank’s vice chairperson Rehana Rahman took part in the meeting virtually by using digital platform.

Other directors Jusna Ara Kashem, Duluma Ahmed, Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Engr Khandker Badrul Hassan (chairman of risk management committee), Nur Nahar Tarin, Md Rafiqul Islam (nominee of Asia Insurance PLC), independent directors Barrister M Moyeen Alam Firozee (chairman of audit committee) and Nurjahan Begum were also present in the meeting.

Md Khalid Mahmood Khan, managing director & CEO, and Mamunur Rashid, company secretary, also participated in the meeting.

Bank’s sponsors and a large number of shareholders took part in the meeting through the digital platform.

Md Khalid Mahmood Khan, managing director and CEO of Southeast Bank PLC, welcomed the shareholders participating through the digital platform in the 9th extra-ordinary general meeting and the 31st annual general meeting.

He highlighted the bank’s operational performance for 2025. He also presented the bank’s future plans and strategic initiatives, which are expected to enhance its operational efficiency and improve the quality of its assets.

The AGM witnessed a lively presentation on the Bank’s operational performance.
The bank earned an operating profit of Tk11,978.43 million in 2025 (consolidated).
As on 31st December 2025 Bank’s total deposits amounted to Tk439,234.90 million and its total assets reached Tk554,424.56 million, Earning Per Share (EPS) was Tk2.51 (consolidated), Net Asset Value per share was Tk25.74 (consolidated).

The Price Earnings Ratio of the Bank was 3.62 times in 2025.
The total Regulatory Capital reached Tk51,096.18 million as of December 31, 2025.
Southeast Bank PLC is considered as one of the most efficient Banks in the industry in terms of cost efficiency. Its cost-to-income ratio stood at 39.56pc.

At the 9th Extra-Ordinary General Meeting, the shareholders unanimously approved the special resolution to increase the Bank’s Authorized Capital from Tk1,500 crore to Tk2,000 crore.

The shareholders also unanimously approved the proposed amendments to Clause ‘V’ of the Memorandum of Association and Article 4(a) of the Articles of Association.

At the 31st Annual General Meeting, the shareholders participated virtually through a digital platform and approved the 3pc Cash Dividend and 7pc Stock Dividend recommended by the Board of Directors.

MA Kashem, chairman of Southeast Bank PLC, expressed his sincere appreciation for the shareholders’ continued cooperation and active support in ensuring the bank’s sustainable growth.

He assured the shareholders that their valuable suggestions would be implemented gradually to further strengthen the bank’s brand image and enhance the overall efficiency, performance, and long-term sustainability of its operations.
