2,240 cases filed against rule-violating vehicles
The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 2,240 cases against vehicles for violating traffic rules in the capital.
The cases were filed during a regular enforcement drive conducted on Wednesday (July 22) to ensure traffic discipline, reduce congestion and improve road safety across Dhaka, according to a DMP press release issued on Thursday.
During the drive, DMP traffic police also dumped 476 vehicles and towed 292 others for violating traffic regulations.
The DMP said such enforcement campaigns will continue to maintain discipline on city roads.
It urged motorists and pedestrians to comply with traffic laws and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure safer and more organised road movement.
