Accused Roni arrested with pistol

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch has arrested Roni, widely known as “Bhangari Roni,” in connection with the murder of listed criminal Khandaker Naeem Ahmed Titon.

DB officers also recovered a foreign-made pistol from him during the arrest.

Rezaul Karim, deputy commissioner of the DB’s Ramna Division, confirmed the development on Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, a DB Ramna zonal team conducted a raid in the Beribadh area of Mohammadpur on Tuesday, July 21, and arrested Roni with the firearm, he said.

Police named Roni as an accused in the Titon murder case.

Rezaul said police had also filed a separate case against him under the Arms Act following the recovery of the weapon.
