FM Fahad Rahman finishes 9th

Bangladeshi Fide Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman, a player of Titas Club, finished 9th in the Telegraph School Chess Championship securing seven points from nine matches concluded at Gorkey Sadan in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Fahad, also a student of Cambrian School in Dhaka, tied for the 6th place jointly, but finished 9th in tie-breaking system.
In the day’s 9th and last round matches, Fahad lost to Mitrabha Guha of India.
Nushrat Jahan Nafisa of Bangladesh became 198th with 4.5 points, Ashababur Rahman Taif finished 293rd with 3.5 points while Mahfizur Rahman Saif became 336th with 3 points.
IM Diptayan Ghosh of India became unbeaten champion securing full nine points.
A total 401 school students from Bangladesh, Nepal, India and USA participated in the event.
