BD passport offers visa-free access to 35 destinations
Bangladeshi passport holders can now travel to 35 destinations without obtaining a visa in advance, according to the latest Henley Passport Index.
The London-based citizenship advisory firm Henley & Partners prepared the index by assessing 199 passports against 227 travel destinations worldwide.
Bangladesh climbed three places to rank 97th in the latest index. However, the number of destinations offering Bangladeshi citizens visa-free or visa-on-arrival access has continued to decline.
At the beginning of 2024, Bangladeshi passport holders could travel to 42 destinations without securing a visa in advance. The number fell to 39 in early 2025 and to 37 at the beginning of 2026.
The latest update reduced the figure to 35 after two more destinations withdrew the facility. The decline has further restricted the international travel options available to Bangladeshi citizens.
Singapore retained its position
as the world’s most powerful passport, allowing its citizens to travel to 192 destinations without obtaining a prior visa.
Afghanistan remained at the bottom of the ranking, with its passport holders receiving visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to only 22 destinations.
Ugandan passport holders, meanwhile, can travel to 65 destinations under visa-free or visa-on-arrival arrangements.
