Tanzid , Saif improve in T20I rankings

Bangladesh have shown their mettle against Zimbabwe in the T20I series despite losing the Test and ODI series. Despite losing the first match, the Towhid Hridoy & Co. secured the series by winning the next two matches. Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim scored fifties in both the three matches. This time he received the reward for that.

The ICC, the highest governing body of cricket, recently updated the rankings. Tanjid has moved up 7 places in the published rankings. He has taken 20th place with a career-best 649 rating. Another opener, Saif Hassan, has moved up 9 places to 27th.

Meanwhile, there has been no change in the top position of T20I batters. Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan has retained his place.

Bangladeshi bowlers have also got a chance in the T20I bowlers. Bangladesh’s Sheikh Mehedi Hasan has moved up 4 places to 19th place. Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain has moved up 8 places to 25th.

Meanwhile, Namus Ahmed has moved down 4 places. He is at number 13. However, he is in the best position among Bangladeshis. Meanwhile, Taskin Ahmed is 9 places ahead at number 69.

Two Zimbabwean pacers Richard Ngarava and Blessing Mujarabani have made a big jump. Ngarava is 37 places ahead at number 32. Mujarabani is 22 places ahead at number 36. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan retains the top spot among T20 bowlers.

Bangladesh’s Sheikh Mahedi Hasan has moved up 2 places to 38th in the T20I all-rounders’ rankings. Saif has moved up 27 places to 46th.

England’s Joe Root has moved up 4 places to 8th in the ODI batters’ rankings. This is the first time he has returned to the top 10 since 2020. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell retains the top spot in the rankings.
