The ongoing flood situation in the country has ended, but it is leaving long-term scars. As the water recedes, a new silent crisis is now emerging. And in this difficult time, popular TV actress Orchita Sporshia has called for humanity towards homeless people and helpless animals.
In an emotional post on social media, she urged everyone to be responsible and aware from their respective places. In her post, Sporshia expressed deep concern about the post-flood health risks.
She wrote, “Flood water eventually recedes.
But the wounds it leaves behind will take a long time to heal. Another silent crisis begins after the water recedes.
Contaminated water spreads various infections including diarrhea, fever, skin diseases. So, drink pure water from now on, store food properly, stay clean and make people around you aware.”
Urging special attention to those most at risk in society during this time of disaster, the actress said, “Pay special attention to our most vulnerable people. This disaster is much harder for elderly members
of the household, pregnant mothers, young children, and sick people.”
In her words, “Another thing that we often forget. Our domestic animals and stray animals on the streets also have the right to live. They too are afraid, they too are hungry, they too seek shelter. If you can
afford it, arrange a dry place and a meal.
Your small act of humanity may save a life.”
She concluded by writing, “The biggest need in this disaster is not just money, but a sense of responsibility, awareness, and the mentality of standing by each other. Because a strong country is not built just on big structures; it is built with people who hold each other’s hands in times of crisis.”
