



The Rangpur Zila Parishad has distributed food assistance among vulnerable and low-income people who have become unemployed due to continuous heavy rainfall in Panchgachhi Union of Pirganj upazila.
The food distribution programme was organised by the Rangpur Zila Parishad at the premises of Math-er Bazar Government Primary School on Wednesday.
Rangpur Zila Parishad Administrator and Convener of Rangpur District BNP, Md Saiful Islam said,”Standing by people affected by natural disasters and those in distress is our moral responsibility.
The Zila Parishad will continue its humanitarian assistance programmes and remain beside vulnerable people in the future.”
Among those present were Pirganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mahamudul Hasan, Upazila Project Implementation Officer (PIO) Abdul Aziz, Pirganj Upazila BNP President Mahamudur Nabi Chowdhury Palash, General Secretary Zakir Hossain, Senior Vice-President Mostafizur Rahman Selim, Organising Secretary Shahinur Zaman Shahin, local public representatives, political leaders, and other distinguished persons.
Following the programme, food items were distributed among more than 100 vulnerable and low-income families who had lost their livelihoods due to the prolonged heavy rainfall.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Zila Parishad for its humanitarian support.
