Arifin Shuvoo, Keya Payel together for 1st time

Dhallywood’s popular star Arifin Shuvoo and the hugely popular actress of the small screen Keya Payel are coming together on the big screen for the first time.

This new pair will be seen in the OTT platform Chorki’s original film ‘Happily Married’. The film is being directed by young director Zahid Pritam.

After a long break, Shuvoo is making a comeback in some Chorki content through this film. On the other hand, this is the first time that popular actress of the small screen, Kaya Payel has worked with Chorki.

The film, which is being produced under the banner of ‘Ministry of Love’ (MOL) project, is going to be the seventh film, which is being co-produced by the renowned production house ‘Chhobial’.

Director Zahid Pritam said that the complexities of contemporary life, the eternal bond of family relationships and the impact of social media on modern life are woven into the story of this film.

He said, “This is the story of people from two periods of close time. What they think about their individuality, family, society and relationships, will be reflected in the film. I am hopeful that I will be able to create an understanding among the audience.”

Usually, viewers are used to seeing Arifin Shuvoo in the role of an action hero or an ‘alpha male’ on screen. However, in movie ‘Happily Married’, Shuvoo will appear in a completely different role as a character named Anis. Here, he will be seen as a ‘sigma male’.

Regarding his character, Shuvoo said, “I am doing a new work with Chorki after 1920. This is a rom-com genre work. I have not worked in such a character just for the sake of saying it.

Here, I will not be seen in the way the audience is usually used to seeing me. In other words, this is not a conventional strong male characterisation.”

The story of the film is built around a psychological and social tension of the present era. On one side of the story is the simple and honest young man Anis (Shuvoo), and on the other side is the young woman Anamika, wrapped in the cloak of upper-class and modern urban culture.

This Anamika is played by Keya Payel, whose character revolves around the thrill of social media, celebrity fantasy and the colourful dreams of the virtual world.

Excited about this new project, Keya Payel said, “I feel very good for several reasons, firstly my co-star Arifin Shuvoo Bhai. Secondly, this is my first work with Chorki, and thirdly, its producer Zahid Pritam. My character is like falling in love.

And there are many layers to my acting. All in all, I feel that the audience has seen me in many ways, and will see me a little differently again.”
