Family disputes over land are common everywhere. Singer Nazmun Munira Nancy is no exception. She alleged that her paternal uncle has encroached on their land.
The singer brought the issue to the fore with a video on her verified Facebook page recently. Along with it, Nancy wrote, “My village home is in Baradia, Narail district.
Almost half of the land adjacent to the bus stand there is our land. During the Awami League era, ‘Sejo Chacha’ (3rd eldest paternal uncle) seized the power of the then local league leader.”
Nancy said that at that time, she asked for help from the local administration, but did not receive it.
The singer wrote, “I did not receive legal assistance. Recently, my elder brother went, and at first, my uncle did not agree to open the gate! You see what they have done to the land in front, saying that they are going to build a madrasa.”
Finally, Nancy indicated that she will take strong action on the matter soon. She also hopes for justice.
Many people suggested filing a lawsuit in Nancy’s post. In response, the singer said, “I did, but it didn’t work. He then used political pressure and took over the entire land in 2021 by enclosing it.”
Incidentally, Nancy has also said in various interviews that she was subjected to various deprivations during the previous Awami League government.
She even complained that she was deprived of many things in her professional work.
However, now she is back to singing. She can often be found singing new songs and performing in events.
