The house where they were supposed to return from the expatriate with smiles on their faces, and the entire family was supposed to be elated, is now filled with tears everywhere.
The bodies of the 5 people who died in the Jhingabari of Ganaighat returned to their homes on Tuesday morning. Their bodies were taken from Osmani Airport in 5 ambulances.
At this time, along with relatives, neighbors also broke down in tears. People from the surrounding area also gathered to see the bodies.
The funeral of the 5 people was held together at the Gachbari Madrasa ground in the afternoon.
Thousands of people from the area, including local representatives, participated in it. It is learnt that their burial will be completed at the family graveyard in the afternoon.
Earlier, at around 6:45 am, Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-226 arrived at Sylhet MAG Osmani International Airport with the bodies of 5 expatriates.
The Expatriates Welfare Ministry handed over the bodies to the families of the deceased at the airport.
They were also given a check of sympathy. BNP and Jamaat leaders were present at the airport at this time.
The bodies were taken from the airport in an ambulance carrying the bodies to the village homes of the deceased in Kanaighat. Earlier, six people were killed in a tragic road accident in Shahania area of Qatar on June 21. Five of the deceased were residents of Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet.
They went to Qatar to change the fate of their families, but returned in coffins. Abu Bakar, Chairman of Jhingabari Union Parishad of Kanaighat upazila, said that the funeral of 5 people was held at the local madrasa ground at noon.
The deceased are Jibal Uddin, son of the late Abdun Noor of Amrpur village in Jhingabari union, Jasim Uddin, son of Siraj Uddin of Majhtaluk village, Mustaq Ahmed, son of Selim Ahmed of Agtaluk village, Jubayer Ahmed, son of the late Mara Mia of the same village, and Kader Ahmed, son of Bahar Uddin of Nij Gachbari village in Dakshin Banigram union.
