Pakistan and Bangladesh share deep-rooted cultural bonds

The Pakistan High Commission Dhaka hosted a day-long food festival at Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka on Friday, showcasing Pakistan’s diverse culinary traditions alongside elements of its fashion and cultural industries.

Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider welcomed guests from across the diplomatic community, academia, media and the general public, noting the strong turnout as a positive sign of growing people-to-people engagement between the two countries.

He said cultural exchanges of this kind would continue in the future, describing them as an important bridge for strengthening bilateral relations between “the two brotherly nations”.

The High Commissioner also underlined Pakistan’s shared cultural links with Bangladesh, pointing to cuisine, fashion and heritage as areas of mutual interest.

The event featured food stalls presenting regional Pakistani dishes as well as displays by well-known fashion brands.

Visitors were given the opportunity to experience a range of culinary and cultural products throughout the day in what organisers described as a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Members of the diplomatic corps and their families also attended the festival, which drew steady crowds from different sections of society.

Attendees expressed appreciation for the initiative, particularly the chance to explore Pakistan’s cultural diversity in a single setting.
