73 new dengue cases reported in 24 hours

Bangladesh recorded 73 new dengue cases in the 24 hours until 8:00 am on Wednesday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Of the new infections, the highest number 38 cases was reported in Barishal division. Chattogram recorded 10 cases, while Dhaka division reported five.

Thirteen patients were admitted to hospitals under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and one under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). The remaining cases were reported in Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions.

With the latest figures, the total number of dengue cases recorded this year has risen to 3,917, while six deaths have been reported so far.
Last year, dengue claimed 413 lives and infected 102,861 people across the country.
