Cluster dev planning workshop held in Madhukhali
A preparatory cluster development workshop was held at Madhukhali Municipality inFaridpur to ensure sustainable development, infrastructure expansion, quality improvement of citizen services and future urban planning.
The workshop was organised at the upazila parishad hallroom on Tuesday with the joint funding of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) and the World Bank and a joint initiative of Madhukhali Municipality and the Resilient Urban and Territorial Development Project (JUTD).
The workshop, held under the chairmanship of Madhukhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Municipal Administrator Rowshana Jahan, was moderated by JUTD (JUTD) Urban Planner Saifur Rahman and Upazila Social Service Officer Kallol Saha.
The workshop was attended by Assistant Engineer SaifurRahman (Hridoy), Social Management Specialist Md. Zahidul Islam, Environmental Specialist Al Amin, Design Engineer SanimArefin, Office Engineer Shamsur Rahman and Upazila Family Planning Officer Dr. Al-Amin Sarwar, highlighting various technical and social aspects of sustainable urban development.
The speakers said that there is no alternative to far-reaching urban planning and improved citizen services to build a modern, planned and environmentally friendly municipality. Through the project, an integrated master plan will be formulated taking into account the current and future citizen needs of Madhukhali Municipality.
Local BNP and Jamaat leaders and local leaders of various classes and professions spoke at the workshop, expressing their views on local development, infrastructure and public safety.
About 50 representatives, including male and female members of the Town-Level Coordination Committee (TLCC), officials from various levels of administration, and local engineers were present at this important workshop.
