Shimanto Bank signs MoU to offer home loans to govt employees
Shimanto Bank PLC recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, to provide home loans to permanent government officials and employees under a special scheme.
The MoU was signed at the conference room of the Finance Division at the Secretariat.
Under the agreement, all permanent government officials and employees will be able to avail home loans through Shimanto Bank PLC.
A portion of the loan interest will be subsidised by the government, while the remaining portion will be borne by the borrower.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Mohammad Abul Hashem, Additional Secretary, Planning, Development and Reform Wing, Finance Division, Ministry of Finance.
Md Nurul Azim, Managing Director and CEO of Shimanto Bank PLC, and Ferdous Rowshan Ara, Additional Secretary, Admin and Planning, Finance Division, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Mohammad Golam Kabir, Deputy Secretary, Housing Building Loan Branch (Additional Charge); T S Shamim Siddiky, Deputy Secretary, House Building Loan Cell-2 (Additional Charge), Finance Division, Ministry of Finance; Md Sahidul Islam, Head of Business; and Mohammad Masud Sajjad, Head of Retail Asset and Liabilities, Shimanto Bank PLC, were present.
Senior officials from both institutions also attended the signing ceremony.
