Mohammedan lose to Dhaka Leopards in DPL

The Dhaka Premier League (DPL) has taken a lively turn with Mohammedan’s another defeat on Monday. The title equation is now in front of three teams after the end of the tenth round of the Dhaka Premier League.

Habibur Rahman Sohan of Legends of Rupganj has set the record for the fastest century in Bangladesh in List ‘A’ cricket by scoring a century in 45 balls on the same day.

Mohammedan made the title fight difficult by losing by 5 wickets to Dhaka Leopards at the BKSP Ground in Savar. Mohammedan, who played without several stars including Tawhid Hridoy due to the Bangladesh Cricket team’s ODI match against Australia today, batted first and scored 225 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Mushfiqur Rahim of Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited scored the highest 68 runs.

In reply, Leopards won in 34.3 overs, relying on the innings of 66 runs by Leopards opener Jawad Abrar and 93 runs by Mominul Haque. Mominul Haque was adjudged the Player of the Match.

After 10 matches, Mohammedan, Abahani and Prime Bank – all three teams are now on equal points with 16.

However, in the head-to-head equation, Abahani will be the champions only if it defeats its arch-rival Mohammedan in the last match.

On the other hand, to win the title, Prime Bank will have to defeat Leopards in the last match, as well as pray for Mohammedan to win. Because, if Abahani and Prime Bank have equal points, Abahani will be the champions as they are ahead in the head-to-head match. And if Mohammedan and Prime Bank have equal points, Prime Bank will be the champions.
