No room for criminal gangs in Khulna: KMP Commissioner
There will be no criminal organisation or armed gang in the city. The only force will be the police,” said Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan, BPM (Service).
He directed law enforcers to further intensify the ongoing joint drive against terrorism, extortion, narcotics and other criminal activities across the city at a review meeting held at the KMP Headquarters on Sunday, where senior police officials assessed the overall progress of the operation.
During the meeting, the commissioner sought feedback from field-level officers regarding any challenges in arresting listed criminals, extortionists and drug traffickers.
He stressed that stronger operational strategies must be adopted to free Khulna of terrorism, extortion and drug-related crimes, adding that no criminal gang or organised group would be allowed to operate in the metropolitan area.
The KMP chief assured officers of all necessary support and guidance in carrying out their responsibilities and urged them to perform their duties with professionalism, integrity and dedication.
He also called for strengthening public trust and cooperation, saying that effective policing requires close engagement with citizens.
The meeting was attended by Additional Police Commissioner (Admin and Finance, also in charge of Crime and Operations) Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan, BPM (Service), PPM (Bar); Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic and Protocol) Muhammad Shahnewaz Khaled, PPM (Service); deputy police commissioners, additional deputy police commissioners, assistant commissioners, and officers-in-charge of all police stations under KMP.
