37,435 Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims return home
Bangladeshi Hajj pilgrims have returned home from Saudi Arabia as of Saturday following the completion of this year’s Hajj held on May 26.
“A total of 89 return flights were operated by three designated carriers — 34 by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 35 by Saudia Airlines and 20 by Flynas Airlines,” an official said.
Hajj office said so far, 3,328 Hajis returned under government management, while 34,107 under private travel agencies arrangements in 89 flights.
“We expect that 3,646 Hajis will return today (Sunday) by nine flights today (Sunday),” he said.
Besides, 48 Bangladeshi pilgrims have passed away in Saudi Arabia during Hajj with 32 males and 16 females.
Of them, 35 died in Makkah, 12 in Madinah and one in Jeddah.
No deaths have been reported in Mina, or Muzdalifah.
According to Hajj bulletin, a total 394 Hajis received treatment from various hospitals in Saudi Arabia due to diseases, while 22 Hajis were hospitalized.
Saudi Arabian medical centers provided treatment to 58049, while IT help desk gave services to 26,567 Hajis in Makkah and Madinah.
This year’s Hajj operations began with the first outbound flight on April 18 and concluded on May 21.
The return Hajj flights started on May 30 and will continue until July 1.
