DSCC Engineer suspended over irregularity allegations
The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has suspended an acting executive engineer amid allegations of tender manipulation, irregularities in shop allocation and abuse of authority.
According to an office order issued on Monday, Golam Kibria Rubel, additional executive engineer of Zone-7 under the Market Construction Cell, has been relieved of all official responsibilities pending the outcome of an investigation.
DSCC authorities said several complaints were lodged against Rubel over alleged misconduct in tender-related activities, management of markets and allocation of shops, as well as other administrative matters under his supervision.
The city corporation has already launched an investigation to examine the allegations.
To ensure a fair and impartial inquiry, Rubel has been attached to the office of the Chief Executive Officer and barred from carrying out official duties until the investigation is completed, the order said.
