I think our team combination is better than last time

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team have not had much success in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup so far. They have won only three out of 25 matches in six editions.

However, Captain Nigar Sultana Joty is confident of changing that disappointing story this time.

She believes that the Tigresses are going to the World Cup with a more mature and balanced team than ever before.

Bangladesh Captain Nigar Sultana Joty is optimistic about their preparations ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup starting in England on June 12.

As part of the preparation for the World Cup, the Bangladesh team will play a tri-nation series in Scotland. The teams are: Hosts Scotland, Bangladesh and Netherlands.

After that, they will go to England. The first batch of the squad will leave the country today, while the rest of the members are scheduled to leave tomorrow.

Bangladesh’s three previous wins in the World Cup came against Sri Lanka, Ireland and Scotland.

Despite defeating Scotland in the last Dubai edition, the team finished fourth in the group after losing the remaining three matches.

Before leaving the country, Joty said, “We won a match in Dubai in the last World Cup.

This time, I think our team combination is better than last time. We have been working since the last series.

We played a few matches there, although the results did not come in our favor. But there were positive aspects.

Our bowling unit is doing well and certain two-three players are performing consistently.”

Specially highlighting the performance of bowlers Marufa Akhtar and Nahida Akter, Joty said the team has increased in depth than before, “Earlier in T20Is, we used to rely on one or two bowlers. Now some new players are also performing.

Nahida and Marufa are there, and the players have the hunger to do well on a stage like the World Cup.

From that point, we can do better. If we can play as a team, then it is possible to do better than the last World Cup.”
