NCC Bank holds free eye care camp in Feni

Md Nurun Newaz Salim Chairman of the NCC Bank PLC inaugurates an eye care camp organised by the bank on the occasion of its 33rd founding anniversary camp at Moulvi Shamsul Karim College in Chhagalnaiya, Feni recently. Throughout the day-long camp, 1,125 poor patients received free treatment, medicine, and spectacles.

On the occasion of its 33rd founding anniversary, NCC Bank has undertaken various social responsibility initiatives.

As part of this, the bank’s foundation, in collaboration with Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital, recently organized a free eye treatment camp at Moulvi Shamsul Karim College in Chhagalnaiya, Feni.
The eye care camp was inaugurated by the bank’s chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim.

Present on the occasion were the bank’s managing director M Shamsul Arefin; SVP and head of SME & Agri Credit Division Sharif Mohammad Mahsin; SVP and head of the foundation Khandaker Saiful Alam; acting principal of the college Abdul Jalil; along with local dignitaries.

Throughout the day-long camp, 1,125 poor patients received free treatment, medicine, and spectacles.
Patients selected for cataract surgery will be provided free transportation to and from Dhaka, food and accommodation, surgery (using a phaco machine), as well as post-operative medicine and dark glasses.

In an advisory speech delivered via digital platform to the patients attending the eye camp, the MP for Feni-1 Munshi Rafiqul Alam Maznu welcomed this initiative and said: “The helpless and underprivileged people of Feni district will benefit from NCC Bank’s program and be saved from blindness.”

Chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim said: “NCC Bank does not do business only for profit; rather, as part of its social responsibility, it helps improve the quality of life of the country’s backward communities by fulfilling basic needs such as education, health, and medical services.”

He expressed gratitude to the authorities of Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital for supporting the bank in this arrangement and expressed optimism that such activities of the bank will continue in the future.
