Kanak Chapa concerns over Ramisa’s murder

The brutal murder of second-grade student Ramisa Akhter in the capital’s Pallabi area has spread shock and anger across the country.

Strong demands for justice have been made on social media.

Along with common people, musician Kanak Chapa raised many questions about this in her Facebook post.

She wrote, “Bangladesh is full of pedophiles – does society realise that? She also questioned why the trial is delayed even after the rapist is arrested and confesses to the crime.”

She also questions the role of lawyers, writing, “If a lawyer takes the side of a criminal, would he still take the side of the criminal just as a professional duty if this happened to his own daughter or someone in his family?”
