BGB deployed to ease Eid travel rush
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed at several key points in Dhaka and Gazipur to help manage traffic congestion and maintain law and order ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
According to BGB officials, personnel have been stationed in busy areas including New Market, the Elevated Expressway, Nabinagar, Baipail, Gazipur City Corporation and Gazipur Chourasta to ensure smoother movement of holiday travellers.
The deployment follows government instructions aimed at preventing disruption on highways and major transport routes during the Eid rush.
BGB members will also support executive magistrates in conducting mobile court operations at toll plazas and congestion-prone areas.
Officials said the special deployment will remain effective from seven days before Eid until three days after the festival.
