BD envoy calls for tech-ready diplomacy

The need to prepare future diplomats to tackle emerging technological challenges and use technology for global benefit, Ambassador and Bangladesh’s Permanent Representative to the UN Nahida Sobhan has stressed on Saturday.

The discussions focused on using digital connectivity to improve access to education for underserved communities and reduce the global digital divide.

During a visit to the Giga Connectivity Centre, she discussed efforts to connect millions of schools worldwide to the internet, according to the Bangladesh Mission in Geneva.

The exchange also highlighted the Digital Infrastructure Investment Catalyser and Giga Accelerator initiatives, which aim to attract investment for digital infrastructure and support startups from the Global South in developing scalable technological solutions.
