Mou’s ‘Sara’s Songsar’ set to release this Eid

A new web film titled “Sara’s Songsar” has been made based on the popular novel “Artonad” by Qazi Anwar Hussain.

The film is directed by Aka Reza Galib and stars renowned Bangladeshi model, dancer, and actress Sadia Islam Mou in the lead role as Sara.

The web film is set to be released on the OTT platform iScreen on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Adha.

The first-look poster of the film was unveiled last Thursday evening, officially announcing its release.

While the original novel “Artonad” was set in the 1970s, the story of “Sara’s Songsar” has been adapted to a modern-day setting.

The screenplay has been newly written to align with contemporary times by Masuma Maimur, the daughter-in-law of Qazi Anwar Hussain. The film is produced by Impress Telefilm.

The web film has already generated audience interest, as it is not just a family drama but also carries a strong blend of thriller and suspense elements.

Speaking about her role, Sadia Islam Mou said, “After a long time, I worked on a character that brings together emotion, fear, and psychological tension.

The role of Sara was very challenging. After reading the story, I felt that audiences will experience something new.”

Director Aka Reza Galib added, “Although the story of the web film is built around a family setting, it includes a strong thriller element that will offer viewers a different experience.

Some changes have been made to the story and character names to suit the screen adaptation.

However, everything was done in consultation with the family.

We wanted to present the story in a way that feels relevant to today’s audience.”
